ABOUT MEArtist & TeacherWife, daughter, friend, artist, and teacher. I grew up in the small town of Grantsburg, Wisconsin and graduated from UWL in May of 2019 with my BS in Art Education. My work is influenced by my nostalgic memories and my faith. I aspire to be an artist that teaches and reaches kids through art in the classroom. Every person tries to find their identity in some way. Art can reflect, reveal, and direct us to discover about what defines us individually and as a whole. As an artist I can attest to this, and as a teacher my students will be able to learn processes and techniques to guide them in this way.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY |
I desire to profoundly influence my students into believing they can be successful. I aspire to tap into their interests, to create a classroom that expands their perspectives of the world, school, community, others, and themselves. I hope to challenge students to think exceptionally beyond their own experiences. Through choice-based studio, students engage in experimentation, problem solving, and develop an expansion of artist skills. A classroom that allows students to think beyond their own experiences while using their creativity, supports cognitive growth in many academic areas. Art is not a passion for all, but a discovery of one’s character, aspirations, emotions, and interpretations.
